Allen Fishman launched TAB twenty-five years ago. He found that his board of directors was invaluable to him throughout his career. But what about the smaller business owner? Where do they go for advice? This is why Allen created TAB. The following are select excerpts from Allen’s book “Seven Secrets of Great Entrepreneurial Masters” that help explain the motivation for creating The Alternative Board.
“As a small-business owner, my personal life is inextricably intertwined with my business life. Every major decision I make has potential impact on all aspects of my life, not just my business life. Both my personal and business lives are responsible for creating the dynamics that have given me the ability to be successful and happy in my role of entrepreneur.”
“In 1990, I identified what seemed to me to be the greatest need of small-business owners: the need for peer advice from fellow business owners and coaching from experienced professionals who were armed with a process to achieve greater personal and business success. TAB is making a difference in the lives of thousands of business owners around the world”
TAB started as one board and grew from there. TAB is now operating boards in over 10 countries around the world and continues to expand. TAB has helped over 15,000 business owners improve their businesses and their lives.
